KARACHI, June 21: The civil hospital has decided in principle to acquire services of private parties next month for improving water facility and sanitation, and installing power generators and laundry plants.

CHK Medical Superintendent Dr Kaleem Butt told APP on Wednesday that the decision had been taken by the hospital’s Board of Governors which met on Tuesday.

The meeting noted that the Sindh government had approved an additional amount of Rs200 million, under the head of special grant.

He said that different wards at the hospital would be revamped whereas modern gadgets would be procured and installed to improve the health facility.

Referring to the security situation within the CHK limits, particularly at the out-patient department (OPD), Dr Butt said that the Sindh home minister and secretary had assured him of the safety and security to be provided to doctors and other staff as well as the patients visiting the hospital.—APP
