KARACHI: 79 mobile phones, 27 vehicles taken away

KARACHI, June 19: Bandits took away at least 49 cellphones in different parts of the city on Monday. Police sources said 15 cellphones were snatched at gunpoint in different parts of the city, while people reported 29 cellphones having been stolen in various areas.

At least five cellphones were reported missing on Monday, police sources said.

At least 27 vehicles were either snatched or stolen in different parts of the city.

Police sources said two cars were snatched at gunpoint while 10 cars were stolen in different parts of the city on Monday.

At least nine motorcycles were snatched at gunpoint in different parts of the city on Monday while six motorcycles were reported stolen.

KILLED: Bandits shot dead an employee of a cellphone shop on the main University Road on Monday.

Police said armed men came to the cellphone shop located near Meteorological office and started looting the shop. When an employee of the shop, Rasool Bux, 25, attempted to stop them, they opened fire at him and fled on their motorcycle.
