KARACHI, June 19: The city government will shortly finalise the installation of biogas plant in the Cattle Colony, Landhi. The plant is being set up by a company of New Zealand on BOT basis. A report in this regard had been given final shape and work thereon would start soon, said Karachi Nazim Mustafa Kamal while talking to a delegation of the Dairy Farmers’ Association on Monday.

EDO Revenue, EDO IT and other officials were also present on the occasion.

The nazim told the delegation that he had visited the cattle colony and therefore he was aware of their problems. He assured the delegation that the city government would take all steps to solve their problems. He said that allocation was being made in the 2006-07 budget for this purpose. He issued directive for improving the hygienic and sanitary conditions in the colony.

Sewerage line: City Nazim Mustafa Kamal on Monday said that a 24-inch-dia sewerage line was being laid in Federal B` Area Industrial Zone, which would be inaugurated on July 15.

Talking to a delegation of FB` Area Association of Trade and Industry at his office, the nazim said that the pipes for this project with serviceable life of 30 years were imported from Dubai.

The meeting decided that the association would monitor the development works initiated in industrial zone for the promotion of infrastructure and lying water and sewerage pipelines in the area.

Mustafa Kamal said that the city government would work on permanent basis for promotion of industrial zones and rehabilitation of infrastructures. The traders lauded the efforts of city government initiated in industrial areas.—APP
