TCP buys mash and channa
KARACHI, June 17: The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) on Saturday awarded contracts for 51,000 tons of desi channa and 10,000 tons of mash (whole) against its tenders dated June 2, 2006.
According to a TCP press release seven bids were received, of which four were found non-responsive. After considering the remaining bids the Purchase and Price Evaluation committee negotiated with the lowest bidders who had quoted $624.90 per ton for desi channa and $659.75 per ton for mash.
The contracted price for 10,000 tons of mash was $653 against the lowest quoted price of $659.75 per ton. The contracts for 21,000 tons of desi channa were awarded at $623 per ton; for 15,000 ton at $624 per ton and for another 15,000 ton at $650.
The TCP claimed to save $1.14 million in purchase of pulses after successful negotiations.
