Probables curtailed

LAHORE, June 16: The list of probables of the national football training camp has been reduced to 33 after Pakistan Football Federation released 14 players on Friday.

The camp is in progress at Railway stadium to select a team to take part in 14th Asian Cup Qualifiers and 10th South Asian Games.

Pakistan coach Salman Ahmed Sharida of Bahrain, who is also acting as chief selector in place of Yunus Changezi, who had resigned in March this year, reviewed the fitness, skill and progress of each player before releasing 14 probables.

A Pakistan U-23 team will be selected to take on Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bhutan in 10th South Asian Games at Colombo, Sri Lanka from August 14 to 27.

In between Pakistan will play with Oman on Aug 16 at Islamabad for a 14th Asian Cup Football qualifiers tie.

Probables: Shahid Ahmed, Nasr Ullah Khan, Fateh Mohammad, Saeed Ahmed, Abdul Rehman, Ghulam Nabi ( Quetta), Ijaz Ahmed ( Abbottabad), Abdul Qadeer ( Chaman), Ghulam Mohyuddin ( Islamabad), Yasir Awan, Ghazzan Jamal, Naveed Khan, Siraj Hussain, Jamil ( Peshawar), Yasir Afridi ( Landi Kotal), Inam Ullah ( Lakki Marwat), Mohammad Irfan, Arsalan Azam ( Kohat), Mohammad Rasool, Sangheen Ali Kahan ( Chitral), Haji Muhammad, Zubair Moazzam, Jaffar Ali ( Faisalabad), Aqeel Ahmed, Imran Ali, Syed Sultan Ali ( Karachi), Asif Sarwar, Hassan Ali ( Gwadar), Waqar Ali, Mohammad Ahmed, Bilal Rafiq ( Lahore), Akram Masih ( Gujranwala) and Adil ( Sargodha).
