Rs3.5m looted

FAISALABAD, June 16: Two masked gangsters looted Rs3.5 million in cash and injured a cloth merchant during a robbery in Warispura in the limits of Batala Colony police station here on Friday. Two brothers — Kamran and Imran — engaged in cloth trading were on their way after drawing Rs3.5 million in cash from a local bank when motorcyclists intercepted them and opened fire, injuring Kamran. Robbers snatched a bag containing the amount and managed to escape from the scene. The injured trader was shifted to hospital where his condition was stated to be stable.

After receiving information, police teams rushed to the spot and combed the area, but found no clue to outlaws.

KILLED: Two labourers were killed while another three sustained serious wounds when the roof of a factory collapsed in Ashrafabad here on Friday.

Reports said that labourers — Akbar and Naveed - died on the spot while Boota, Amin and Ishaq Ahmed received serious injuries. They were admitted to a hospital where the condition of Ishaq was stated to be serious.
