Govt taking steps to curb smuggling

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, June 16: Balochistan Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani has said that the government is taking steps to encourage and promote border trade with Iran and Afghanistan. He was speaking at the foundation-stone laying ceremony of the NLC border terminal at Chaman on Friday.

He also inspected proposed sites for trade gates at Badeni and Qila Saifullah.

He said that establishing border terminal in Chaman and customs complexes at different places was part of efforts being made by the government to promote trade in the region. He said customs complexes had been completed in a short time in Panjgur, Turbat and Gwadar, while more complexes would be set up in Nushki, Badeni and Qamarud Din Karez areas.
