PESHAWAR, June 15: The Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) has announced that it will waive late payment surcharge levied till May 2006 for the federal/ provincial government departments, including autonomous and local bodies, subject to payment of all outstanding dues by June 30.
According to the new package, all government, semi government, autonomous and local bodies departments who have not yet paid their electricity dues or made partial payment can clear their outstanding arrears till June 30 without late payment surcharge levied in electricity bills, said a press release issued here on Thursday.
Wapda has taken the decision in the interest of the said departments to facilitate them in clearing their arrears. Pesco has requested all departments and institutions to benefit from the relief package and pay their electricity bills without any further delay.—APP
