Cricket: Rana Naved to undergo check-up in England

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, June 15: Rana Navedul Hasan will leave for England on Saturday for check up of his groin injury, Pakistan captain Inzamamul Haq said on Thursday.

Rana Naved is to see a doctor on Monday after which final decision about his selection for upcoming tour of England will be taken.

Inzamam said the management was considering Shoaib Akhtar, who is also injured, as possible replacement.

The final decision about Shoaib’s inclusion depends on PCB medical commission which will examine his fitness on Friday, the skipper added.

Shoaib will be considered for the second of the four Tests against England if he proves fitness.

Meanwhile, opener Imran Farhat suffered from a hamstring injury and has been advised rest for 10 days.

Inzamam, however, said his injury was of minor nature.

He made it clear that no player was being allowed to play county cricket till next year’s World Cup to save them from injuries.
