PESHAWAR, June 15: The Awami National Party (ANP) has expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Bara in Khyber Agency.

In a press release issued here on Thursday, the party’s provincial president MPA Bashir Ahmad Bilour said that political authorities had virtually sealed the Bara market and created a curfew-like situation in the town for an indefinite period.

He said that the market’s closure had resulted in shortage of food items besides causing financial losses to traders.

The ANP leader said that people’s problems had multiplied because of a ban on traffic in the area. He said that the government should solve the issue through peaceful means and avoid the use of force.

He urged the government to restore the basic rights of the people of the tribal area.

Our Bureau adds: University of Peshawar has announced to change the BA and BSc examination centre in Bara (Khyber Agency) to Peshawar due to law and order situation.

According to a press release issued here on Thursday, the examination centre at the Government Degree College Kohi Sher Haider has been shifted to Government Centennial Model High School No.4 in Peshawar Cantonment.

The university said that enrolment numbers have been issued to the candidates and those who have not yet received them should contact the examination section along with their National Identity Cards and photo copies of their marks certificates of the previous examination.
