LAHORE, June 15: The Lahore High Court on Thursday directed a Board of Revenue member (consolidation) to probe the corruption of his staff and report the court within two weeks.

Earlier, the court expressed concern over the non-compliance of its previous order in which it had ordered a probe against the revenue staff (consolidation).

The petition, filed by Haleema Bibi through advocate M.D.Tahir, submitted that the consolidation proceedings were pending in Gujrat district since 1992 and the respective officials were committing illegalities. He requested the court to declare the consolidation proceedings initiated by the respondents as illegal and restrain the Gujrat DCO and tehsildar from reducing land of the petitioner. HEAD

MISTRESS: The LHC on Thursday directed the Punjab education special secretary to adjust the petitioner in next grade. The court passed the order on a petition, filed by headmistress Azka Chaudhry through her counsel Khadim Husain Khokhar, submitting that she had been promoted in grade-18 on March 17 but she was not adjusted. She informed the court that 225 employees were promoted and she was at number 28 in the list and she had approached the respondent for her adjustment in next grade but to no avail. —APP
