‘Rs8.4m spent on Kohat health facilities’


PESHAWAR, June 15: About Rs8.4 million was spent in 2005 on improvement and renovation of various health facilities in Kohat district, including operation theatre, gynaecology ward and other health centres, an official said here on Thursday.

District Programme Officer Dr Rehman said at a meeting of the district health and population management team said health officials were trained in various specialties with special focus on mother and child care system. He said that the objective of the project was to bring down maternal death rate and empower women at the grassroots level.

District Health Coordinator Dr Balqis vowed to continue efforts to eradicate malaria, polio, tuberculosis and hepatitis.-—APP
