KARACHI, June 14: Bandits had a field day on Wednesday as they either snatched or took away 59 cellphones and 26 vehicles in the city. According to police sources, 24 cell phones were snatched at gunpoint and 35 cellphones were stolen.
Among vehicles, four cars were snatched at gunpoint while five were stolen in different parts of the city.
Similarly, bandits took away 11 motorcycles while six motorcycles were taken away.
KILLED: A young man died and his brother received injuries in a road accident in Quaidabad.
Police said Faisal, 20 and Danish, 18 were on their motorcycle when a water-tanker hit them in Quaidabad.
Danish sustained serious injuries and died before he could be shifted to hospital. His elder brother Faisal sustained injuries and was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for treatment.
INJURED: Two persons sustained bullet wounds when repeater gun of a security guard went off on I I Chundrigar Road.
Police said Mohammad Khan was performing duty outside the Islamic Bank when his repeater gun went off, injuring a pedestrian Mubashir Husain and a rickshaw driver Zakir. Both the injured were rushed to Civil Hospital for treatment, police said.
CHILD DIES: A child died when a wall collapsed on him in Lyari on Wednesday evening.
Police said two children between the age of four and five were playing near their house when an old tree fell on a wall, which collapsed on the children. Both children were trapped under the rubble and taken to a hospital, where Ali Qamar Jafri died.
