Punjab plans Rs100bn ADP

LAHORE, June 13: With a revenue target of Rs274 billion, the Punjab budget for fiscal year 2006-07 will be announced on Wednesday. The budget proposes a development programme of Rs100 billion.

It also proposes 30 per cent increase in the share of the District Development Programme.

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, who addressed a pre-budget press conference here on Tuesday, said Punjab was achieving its annual targets of seven to eight per cent GDP growth.

He claimed that Punjab contributed more than 50 per cent to the country’s GDP in almost all major sectors.
