3 IT officers suspended

ISLAMABAD, June 13: The Chairman CBR Abdullah Yousuf on Tuesday suspended three senior income tax officials posted at Zone-A, Southern Region, Karachi. According to the CBR notifications issued here the officers, who were suspended, included Commissioner Income Tax Muhammad Ishaque; Additional Commissioner of Income Tax Ms Rukhsana Saeed and Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax Muzzafar Sumroo posted at Zone-A, Southern Region, Karachi.

The notifications, however, did not mention the charges which led to the suspension of these officers working in the same office. They would continue to draw pay and allowances as admissible under the law, added the notifications.

When contacted the CBR chairman told Dawn that these officers were suspended on disciplinary ground. They would be charge-sheeted shortly, he added.
