Procedure for subsidy disbursement

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, June 13: The State Bank has announced the procedure for disbursing subsidy on the import of whole black gram. The central bank in a circular issued here on Tuesday said that the subsidy of Rs8 per kg on imported whole black gram (for splitting into dal channa) would be given up to 100,000 tons of imports on first come first served basis.

Authorised dealers were advised to process the subsidy claims on imported whole black gram as per the procedure given by the SBP.

Importers will lodge their claims along with the import documents (including invoices, copy of contract/LC, Bill of Entry/GD Form, Truck/Railway Receipt, Bill of Lading, etc) to their bankers within 60 days from the date of clearance of consignment from the customs.

Authorised dealers will examine process, recommend and forward the claim within three working days of its receipt to the concerned field office, SBP - Banking Services Corporation, for payment.

The field office on the basis of authorized dealers’ certification will credit their accounts with the claimed amounts within three working days of receipt of claims for onward disbursement to the concerned importer immediately.
