LAHORE, June 12: Fancied chestnut filly Trace Hit delighted sports connoisseurs winning the Summer Cup run over 1200m during the day/night Lahore Summer Meeting at the Racecourse on Sunday.

The filly simply ran away from the start from her eight rivals to win by six lengths from her pursuers.

She clocked a fast timing of one minute 11 2/5 seconds over the sprinting distance. Sher-i-Punjab, Miss Pole and Alexander completed the frame.

LRC stewards were not satisfied with the performance of Empire Maker, who ran off the frame conspicuously.

Jockey Faisal Tahir was fined Rs5000 for not riding his mount on merit.

Trainer Haji Ghulam Sarwar scored a hat trick of winners. He sent out Trace Hit, Miss Photogenic and Namroud to record victories in the 5th, 6th and 7th race.

Jockey Shahid Rehman distinguished himself with a profitable double through Miss Photogenic and Namroud.
