KARACHI, June 12: Defying federal and provincial education authorities, the All-Private Schools Management Associations, Sindh, on Monday announced to open schools from August 1 after summer vacations “in the larger interest of education and students and for preparations of independence day celebrations”.
After marathon meetings, both the Sindh Education Department and Federal Education Ministry had decided to start the next academic session from August 16 instead of August 1 and asked all public and private educational institutes to follow the schedule.
Announcing the decision, APSMAS President Khalid Shah said that his organisation repeatedly appealed authorities to allow private schools to open schools from August 1 after summer vacations but the authorities did not pay heed to its demands.
“After consultations with parents, students and management of private schools, the APSMAS has decided that all private schools in Sindh will be opened from August 1,” he announced and appealed education department authorities to issue a notification in this regard.
He also welcomed the cancellation of registration of two private schools for receiving the fees of July from students.—PPI
