KARACHI: KU holds sessions on curriculum, research




KARACHI, June 12: Two sessions of training module on curriculum development and research skills were conducted at the University of Karachi on Monday. A university official said that the sessions were held under the resource centre at the psychology department.

Dr Shoaib Tauheed of Dow University of Health Sciences introduced the concept of curriculum development, its types with emphasis on training the participants for the development of course plan.

This, he added, was essential for a teacher to get his or her pedagogical skills developed and organised. This module of curriculum development also helped the participants to understand various aspects of course planning through activity conducted in groups of the participants.

Regarding the research skills module, Prof Shaoib Tauheed highlighted the salient features for conducting research. He also talked on components of successful research and emphasised the need of research activities in social sciences for which guidelines were provided stage-wise from research planning up to the writing of research report. –APP
