KARACHI: Imtiaz gets bail

KARACHI, June 12: The Sindh High Court on Monday granted protective bail to sacked provincial revenue minister in mobile snatching case. Imtiaz Sheikh, along with others, was booked by the police in Shikarpur on charge of snatching a mobile in December 2005.

Complainant Anwar Hussain Jokhio alleged that five armed person of Imtiaz Shiekh riding on a motorcycle snatched his mobile phone and cash while threatening him of dire consequences.

Applicant's counsel Fareed Dayo contended that his client was being implicated in cases on instructions of Chief Minister Sindh Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim.

SHC's single bench, comprising Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany, after preliminary hearing of the application granted interim bail to the applicant in sum of Rs100,000 and directed the office to attach the file of the case with other cases.—PPI
