KARACHI: Programmes on wildlife planned at Karachi zoo
KARACHI, June 11: The administration of the Karachi Zoological Department has planned to organize an awareness programme for school children at the Mughal Garden, Karachi Zoo, on wildlife conservation.
The Mughal Garden, a beautiful place in the Karachi Zoo, was established two years ago but visitors have since overlooked it and have not visited it.
An official giving the reason for this said that the citizens did not know that the Mughal Garden had lush green grass with roses.
He said the administration had planted different type of trees, shrubs and flowers, giving a beautiful and colourful look to the garden, built on the design of the Shalimar Garden of Lahore.
Besides, he said that there were red, yellow, white, orange, black and purplish roses and other seasonal flowering plants in the garden.
The official said that most visitors visited the cages of various animals, on the other side of the zoo and did not come to the garden.
He said that the administration of the Karachi Zoo is now going to organize a programme on "Wild Life Conservation" at the Mughal Garden.
This will not only create awareness among the young generation about endangered and under extinction species but also make them aware about the beautiful site of the garden.
The administration will also organize other programmes at the garden.—Online
