LAHORE, June 10: Former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes will not target any particular player during his stunt as fielding coach of the Pakistan team.
"I will not give specific attention to any player but rather try to improve fielding of the team as a whole,” Rhodes saidon Saturday.
The South African, however, made it clear that he could not improve fielding overnight.
Rhodes, the veteran of 52 Tests and 245 ODIs, said he had developed his own fielding techniques that he would like to impart.
He would spend four days with the Pakistan senior squad, three days with the ‘A’ side and four days with coaches.
Rhodes, one of the best fielders the world has ever produced, said he was hopeful for better results since Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer informed him about improved fitness of the players.
He added that he was not interested in signing a long-term contract with the PCB as he would be joining South African team from July 1 leading up to next year’s World Cup in the West Indies.
