Karachi teams for Sindh Games

KARACHI, June 9: The Karachi Divisional Amateur Athletic Association on Friday named a 37-member squad to take part in the 10th Sindh Games to be held in Hyderabad from June 12.

The team was announced by the association’s secretary, Zahid Shaikh, after conducting trials at National Sports Training and Coaching Centre.

Mohammad Javed Iqbal will lead men's team while Nadia is the captain of the women squad.

Meanwhile, Karachi swimming team was also announced. Jawwad Kamani will lead the nine-member team in the Sindh Games.

Players:

Athletics (men): Ali Aamir, Umair Siraj, Abbas, Hazrat Rehman, Ayub Khan, Rizwan Raza, Ishaq, Khasta Badsha, Muzaffar, Shahid Iqbal, Hasan Mohsin, Aamir Khan Niazi, Sattar, Mohammad Faisal, Aneel Akbar Ali, Meer Baz, Nadeem Aslam, Shafaqat Ali, Shakeel. Ghazanfar Mahmood (manager), Asim Mughal (coach).

Athletics (women): Mehwish Khan, Afshan Altaf, Naila, Midhat, Ghazal Farooqi, Parisa, Hajra, Nazia, Aisha Agha, Hira, Omema, Nighat. Nighat (manager), Yasmeen Zareen (coach).

Swimming: Aneeq Anwar, Zeeshan Salim, Usman Salim, Ahsan Mushtaq, Suleman Saadat and Mustafa Mohammad Ali. Shahanshah Hussain (manager), Abdul Ghafoor (coach).—APP
