LAHORE, June 9: Excise minister Dr Shafique informed the Punjab Assembly on Friday that the government was selling liquor to minorities and not specifically to Christians and did not intend to change the rules regarding issuance of its permits.
During the question hour, he said the rights of the minorities had been clearly protected in the constitution. And in pursuance of this, the provincial government was providing liquor to those minority members who desired it. This facility was not exclusively for Christians.
