KARACHI: Poisonous gas kills two in Landhi

KARACHI, June 9: Two sanitary workers died and two others fell unconscious after inhaling poisonous gas while cleaning up a drain in the Export Processing Zone, Landhi, on Friday.

Police said that Iqbal Masih, 27, and Akram Masih, 40, along with their two associates Govind and Romeo fell unconscious while cleaning a drain after descending into it. They were taken to a nearby private hospital where Iqbal and Akram were pronounced dead. Their associates were rushed to the JPMC.
