Tracking service

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, June 9: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has levied 15pc excise duty on vehicle tracking service and burglar alarm service. An announcement of CBR issued here on Friday said that telecommunication services had always been subject to levy of excise duty collected in the manner of sales tax. The new two services included in the telecommunication services list for the levy of excise duty.

It was, however, clarified that no excise duty had been levied on data communication services including internet and other value added data services, which would continue to enjoy exemption from excise duty.
