Qazi Shams of PML-F leading in by-poll

By Our Correspondent

SANGHAR, June 8: Qazi Shamsuddin Rajar of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional bagged 30,286 votes and Umer Gul Hingorjo of the Pakistan People’s Party got 1,832 votes, according to the unofficial vote count at 47 polling stations out of 115 set up for Thursday’s by-election for the Sindh Assembly constituency PS-80 Khipro.

About 281 polling booths were set up for 74,790 male and 65,780 female voters in the constituency comprising 13 union councils.

The voter turnout was recorded between 45 per cent and 50 per cent.

Since most polling stations were situated in the desert area lacking effective communication system, it will take some time to compile results.
