Published June 9, 2006

KARACHI, June 8: The Passport Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency arrested on Thursday four alleged human smugglers who were already booked in several cases.

Deputy director Mohammed Malick of the Passport Circle told Dawn that the suspected human smugglers were members of notorious gang involved in arranging fake travelling documents for Bangladeshi nationals.

The FIA official said on a tip-off, an FIA party arrested two alleged agents, Saleem and Shahabuddin, in Gulshan-i-Iqbal. The two suspects, he said, gave a lead for the arrest to two more agents, Faizullah and Nayan, at Karachi Airport.

Mr Malick said the FIA team also arrested five Bangladeshis with two agents at the airport. The suspects, identified as Moosa, Idrees Mian, Mohammed Mohiuddin, Abdul Hussain and Faredul Haq, were found carrying forged passports.
