PESHAWAR, June 7: Juveniles languishing in NWFP jails received medical check-up and medicines in free medical camps organised last month by an NGO working for promotion and protection of children’s rights.
According to a press release, the camps were held in the prisons of Mardan, Swabi, Kohat, Bannu, Haripur and Bunner.
The ailing prisoners who visited the camps included 710 adults, including 340 men and 130 women and 172 juveniles including eight females. Some 68 children living with their imprisoned mothers were given toys, clothes, milk and food items. The NGO has established schools for juvenile prisoners in the jails.
