KARACHI, June 7: Almost an entire green-belt situated between PECHS, Block 2 and Lines Area, has been turned into a garbage dump, causing stinking atmosphere.

People residing in Lane No 1 of PECHS, Block 2, and in the rear portion of Lines Area are the worst sufferers as garbage often remains littered around the greenbelt and has created a filthy environment, and residents avoid opening windows of their houses.

During a visit to the locality, one can see heaps of garbage on the green-belt. To the utter surprise of many, a portion of the green-belt has been officially declared garbage dumping ground by Jamshed Town municipal administration.

Area residents urged Jamshed Town Nazim to direct the officials concerned to select some other site for garbage dumping.
