LAHORE, June 6: Lesco chief executive officer Akram Arain has suspended Islampura SDO Mir Mustafa and meter reader Muhammad Aslam on a complaint lodged by Muhammad Amin, a resident of Dilkusha, Samanabad.

The Water and Power Development Authority has established a chairman complaint cell at Wapda House where senior officials listen to complaints of consumers daily.

On Tuesday, the Lesco chief was present in the complaint cell. Muhammad Amin appeared in person and complained of overbilling.

According to a press release, the Lesco chief sent an official immediately to check meter of the consumer. The official endorsed that the complaint was correct as reading of the bill was higher than the meter reading.

On this, Mr Arain immediately suspended Mir Mustafa and Muhammad Aslam. He also ordered an inquiry into the complaint and appointed Lesco manager (M&S) Col Nadeem Ahmed as inquiry officer. —APP
