NOTTINGHAM, June 5: England captain Andrew Flintoff is to see a specialist after a scan revealed bone fragments in his injured left ankle. Flintoff, speaking on Monday after his side lost the third Test against Sri Lanka by 134 runs to share the series 1-1, said:
“I can't speculate on what it means but it's sore.
“It's in the same area where I was operated on last year but whether it's related or not we don't know.”
Flintoff felt pain in the ankle during the third Test and was unable to bowl in the Sri Lanka second innings on Monday.
England are due to name their one-day squad on Wednesday to take on Sri Lanka in a five-match series beginning on June 17.
Flintoff underwent surgery for a bone spur in his ankle before last year's Ashes.
