By Our Correspondent

GUJRANWALA, June 5: Carrying out the Punjab IGP’s orders, the DIG got registered a case against a former Satellite Town SHO and an investigation officer for detaining two sisters in an illegal confinement here on Monday.

DIG Zafar Abbas Lak visited the district jail and recorded statements of two sisters ‘S’ and ‘N’, who reportedly confirmed that police officers raped them at the police station during interrogation in a dacoity case. The medical report of the two sisters also testified charges against the two policemen.

District Bar Association president Ilyas Rehan also filed a petition in a local court for the registration of a case against the accused policemen. The judge summoned DPO Dr Arif Mushtaq, Satellite Town SHO Arif Ali, investigation officer Malik Altaf and two constables to appear before court on June 12.
