KARACHI: Two killed in road accidents

KARACHI, June 5: Two men died in separate road accidents in different parts of the city on Monday. Police said that a speeding water tanker (JP-0073) crushed Sarwar in Block 22, F. B Area. The victim was on his motorcycle, police said. The errant tanker driver escaped.

In Shershah, Ellahi Bux, 32, an employee of the city government, was crushed to death by a dumper. The victim was going to Safari Park where he was posted.

DIES: A young man died while resisting a cellphone snatching attempt at Nagan Chowrangi late Sunday night.

Police said Sarfaraz, 22, was sitting near the Maria Luxury Apartment when two men on a motorcycle pulled up and demanded his cellphone at gunpoint. On his resistance they shot him taking away the cellphone, police said.

The victim was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
