HYDERABAD, June 5: Two young boys drowned in Pinyari canal on Sunday. Eight-year-old Mehrab and his cousin Raju had gone for swimming in the canal when they lost control and swept away by strong current.

The body of Mehrab was fished out. They were residents of Laloo Lashari goth.

SELF-IMMOLATION: A 25-year-old man, Sajid Ali, set himself on fire outside the women police station on the Autobahn road on Sunday.

He suffered sixty per cent burn wounds and was admitted to the Hyderabad civil hospital.

He sprinkled kerosene oil over his body.

According to Dr Bilal Sheikh his condition was serious and his survival was at stake.

The cause of self-immolation could not be ascertained. He was a resident of Sehrish Nagar and originally belonged to Larkana.

Complaints: A villager from Husri has appealed to authorities to provide him protection against Shabbir alias Shaban, reports Bureau.

He said that he had stolen his two goats and was now threatening him with dire consequences.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club, Sher Mohammad Pirzado, 85, a resident of Goth Qaim Ghanghro, said that he was a poor man and his only source of livelihood was two goats.

He said that two years back, one Shabbir alias Shabban, who had criminal record, had stolen his two goats.

He said that at the intervention of elders of the village, Shabban promised to return goats but later refused.

He said that later he gave Rs2,000 cash as ransom yet his goats were not returned and Shabban demanded Rs1,000 more which he could not pay.
