KARACHI: PML-N leader’s plea for safety

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, June 5: Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) has said that present military rulers have divided interior districts among tribal chieftains and waderas who have unleashed a reign of terror against their opponents, belonging to the opposition parties.

Pointing out that life of his family members was in danger, PML-N central vice president Imdad Chandio appealed to the chief justice and IGP to take notice of the situation.

“If we suffered any loss of life, Sardar Shabbir Chandio, his two sons would be held responsible”, he added.

Mr Imdad Chandio, flanked by PML-N leaders Mamnoon Hussain, Chaudhry Saleem Arain and Hafiz Sadiq Samejo, pointed out that from Khyber to Karachi, there was a reign of terror.

He said the ruling party had won the LB polls through coercion and rigging and with the support of police.

Giving example of his own district, Larkana, he said that if fair and free elections are held and the district Nazim secures 20 per cent votes, he would retire from politics.

He said entire Sindh was divided among chieftains and waderas which would cause harm to the country.

Giving his own example, Mr Chandio said they had political differences with chieftain of Chandio community who had instituted dozens of cases against his son, family members despite the fact that on March 3 a 15-year old girl of our family was kidnapped and when FIR was registered against accused and its information was given as per tradition to Chandio chieftain, the very next day Sardar Chandio’s son who is Nazim went to the police station and filed a counter-FIR against the father of the girl, my son and my brother.

Demanding of the authorities to ensure recovery of the girl and return of their property, Mr Chandio appealed for justice.
