3 killed in separate incidents

RAWALPINDI, June 4: Two persons were shot dead over a family dispute, while a proclaimed offender was killed in an encounter with police in Kotli Sattian on Sunday, police said. Nasir Mehmood and his brother-in-law Mohammad Akseer were shot dead by Sudheer Akhtar in a marriage ceremony at Kotli Sattian on Sunday, the police. According to the police, the accused wanted to get married with the sister of Nasir Mehmood, but his proposal was turned down by the girl’s parents which annoyed him.

On Sunday, when the marriage ceremony of the girl was underway, Sudheer appeared on the scene and opened fire on Nasir and Akseer. As a result, both the persons were killed on the spot, while the alleged killer escaped from the scene.

Meanwhile, a man wanted by the Kotli Sattian police was killed in an encounter on Sunday, while his son was captured, police said.

The encounter with the police started when a police party raided the house of Zahoor Ahmed who was wanted in 18 cases.
