PESHAWAR, June 1: A leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) has called upon the government to start free trade with Afghanistan and allow people living on both sides of Durand Line to cross over without restrictions.

Speaking at the press club here, Mohammed Afzal Khan said that Islamabad should remove ‘reservations’ of Kabul for establishing peace in the wart-torn country as it was in the best interest of Pakistan and the region.

“Without peace in Afghanistan unrest in the region will continue,” he warned.

The nationalist leader said that unification of Pukhtun nation could alone ensure solution of their problems.

“Both Pakistan and Afghanistan can work out a procedure for uniting the divided Pukhtun nation,” Mr Khan said.
