RAWALPINDI, May 31: A Mohammad Aamir century and his haul of eight wickets earned Bajwa Public School a 272-run victory over Govt School Qutral Attock and with it the PCB National Inter-school (Rawalpindi region) title.

Aamir stroked 104 in his team's total of 302 and then sent the rivals crashing to 30 all out with his sizzling spell in which he claimed eight wickets for 12 runs.

Bajwa School, who retained their title, owed it all to the heroics of Aamir adjudged the Man-of-the-Match. He also earned the best batsman and best bowler awards.

Aamir's feat overshadowed a fine knock of 107 by team-mate Nasir Mahmood.

Our Sports Reporter adds from Karachi: A devastating spell of spin bowling by Wajidullah helped New Standard School overwhelm Islamia Secondary School by 170 runs in the Karachi region tournament on Tuesday.

Off-spinner Wajid snared six for 15 as Islamia Secondary crashed to 115 all out while chasing 268.

Earlier Ijaz Waheed (88, five fours and four sixes) and Shakir Afridi (48) were main run-getters for the winners.

In an exciting finish, R.A. Model School defeated A One Academy by just one wicket.

Fine batting by S.M. Mujahid (70, eight fours), Arsalan Hussain (50, six fours) and a good all-round performance from Mohammad Zohaib (59 with six fours and three for 38) guided GBSS Apwa Korangi to a 67-run victory over Danish Ali English School.

Abid Raza’s all-round showing (55 with nine fours and three for 40) failed to save Green Home School from a 37-run loss against Dhaka Secondary School.
