MIRPURKHAS, May 31: The District Coordination Officer of Mirpurkhas, Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, has said that phase-IV of the urban water supply scheme and urban drainage scheme phase-III would be completed at a cost of Rs600 million.

According to a handout issued here on Wednesday, the DCO said that the urban water supply scheme phase-IV would be completed in four years and work on this project was initiated in 2005.

He said that after its completion three million gallons of water per day would be supplied to 317,000 people.

He said that under the project five water reservoirs at West Jamrao and seven water reservoirs at East Jamrao would be constructed and two filter plants would be established.

The DCO said that drainage scheme phase-III project would be completed at a cost of Rs198.7 million and sewerage water would be disposed through LBOD SCARP (Salinity Control and Rehabilitation Project) drain.

He added that 50 per cent amount of the projects would be provided by federal government while 25 per cent cost would be borne by the provincial government.

DISRUPTION: The power supply to the city remained disrupted after a tree fell over electricity wires on M.A.Jinnah road near government girls’ higher secondary school here on Wednesday. People experienced hardships in the sizzling heat.

Power supply was restored after four hours.
