Wagah-bound bus stopped by mob

AMRITSAR, May 31: Annoyed with the bad condition of roads in their locality, a group of people on Wednesday forcibly stopped the Amritsar-Nankana Sahib bus for about an hour while it was heading towards the Wagah border to cross over to Pakistan, IANS reports.

Informed by the escort and pilot vehicles of the bus about the incident, police arrived immediately and used mild baton-charge to disperse the protesters, who were demanding renovation of roads in Batala Road area of the city.

Finally, the bus resumed its journey towards Wagah border amidst tight security.—Online
