Dera Bugti mine blasts kill one, hurt four

QUETTA, May 30: One person was killed and four others injured in three landmine explosions in different areas of the Dera Bugti district on Tuesday. A gas pipeline was also blown up in the Sui gas field. According to official sources, Baro Khan was killed and another person injured when their motorcycle hit a landmine in the Bekar area.

Two people were injured in a landmine explosion in the Habib Rahi area and another person lost his leg when he stepped on a landmine in Patokh area.

Sources said some people blew up a 16-inch-diameter pipeline, supplying gas to a Sui plant, near well-21 in the Sui gas field area in the morning. The accused also attacked well-10, which was badly damaged.

GOVERNOR’S APPEAL: Governor of Balochistan Owais Ahmad Ghani has called upon Ulema and Mashaikh to play role in promoting unity among people, adds PPI.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of provincial Ulema and Mashaikh convention here on Tuesday. he said that the Ummah could overcome and face challenges and crisis if they display unity quelling internal intrigues.

He said Ulema can play remarkable role for promotion of Islamic teachings and unity.

He maintained that we should respect each other’s beliefs and creeds.
