No free ‘17’ facility from June

ATTOCK, May 30: Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL) has withdrawn the free inquiry service ‘17’ throughout the country and subscribers would be charged as a local call from June 1, sources told Dawn. Director Interconnection PTCL Headquarters Islamabad has issued directives in this regard through a letter (No 1-12/2006) to all divisions throughout the country, the sources claimed adding that users of ‘17’ would be charged as a local call — Rs2.1 from the start of next month.
