Billboard collapses

LAHORE, May 29: Another billboard collapsed in Liberty Market at 3am during rain on Monday. However, there was no casualty reported as there was no activity in the area at that time. The board landed in an adjacent park.

Earlier, a big signboard had collapsed in the market in a dust storm last week, killing one and injuring two people.

The Parks and Horticulture Authority claims that it had directed all advertisers in March to check stability of their billboards while six structural engineers of the authority examined them biannually.

The PHA also says that all advertisers have submitted an indemnity bond of assuming responsibility for any loss of life and property in case of collapse of their respective publicity boards.
