KARACHI: Muslims urged to shun sectarianism

KARACHI, May 29: Renowned religious scholar Dr Jamil Rathore urged Muslims to shun sectarianism and forge unity among themselves to face the challenges posed by the western world.

Speaking at a Milad congregation organised by the Pakistan Herald Workers Union, he said every school of thought may have its separate views but all have the same roots. He quoted the example of unity among Muslims of the world on the issue of blasphemous cartoons.

Later four employees, Mr Shabbir Gangat, director finance; Mohsin Elahi, sub-editor; Syed Alim Ali of PHL and Shaikh Kashif Aslam of Dawn Lahore, were chosen in balloting for Haj under the annual Haj scheme.
