KARACHI: Two die in accident, tanker set ablaze

KARACHI, May 29: Two young cousins died in a road accident near Guru Mandir intersection on Monday. A duty officer of the Soldier Bazar police station said Iqbal, 25 and Marium, 26, were passing through Guru Mandir on their motorcycle when they were hit by a Pakistan State Oil tanker (LSC-432).

The injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival by doctors.

People caught hold of the tanker driver Ghulam Zakaria and gave a severe beating before setting the oil tanker on fire.

Fire brigade were called in and firemen managed to control the fire.

After the accident, police diverted the traffic to other roads, which caused traffic jams. Three held: The Anti-Narcotic Force, Sindh, foiled attempts of smuggling psychotropic substance and arrested three persons, APP adds.

A special team of ANF Police Station Mohammad Ali Society arrested Shariq Wahab, Mohammed Saleem and a Bangladesh national, Asadur Rehman at the airport on their arrival with medicines, huge currency of different countries when they landed from Flight BG-023.
