KARACHI, May 29: Sindh Minister for Planning and Development Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari on Monday reviewed the expansion project of the Government College of Education, Federal B. Area, under which a school is being constructed in the institution for teachers’ training.

The minister said work on the school, to be named Nazir Hussain Memorial Teachers’ Practicing Model School, would be completed two years ahead of schedule in 2007.

Work on the Rs43.5 million project over 29,671 square-feet was started on April 26, 2004. It envisages construction of practice rooms, a reading room, a sports complex, a tennis court, a cricket ground, classrooms, an administration block, laboratories, store etc. The minister said good and trained teachers were essential for raising the standard of education and it had been painful that the institution for their training was without a school. He said special care should be taken to ensure quality of the construction.--APP
