KARACHI: KU evening admissions being finalized

KARACHI, May 29: The University of Karachi will start collecting admission forms and tuition fee for various evening programmes from June 5 onwards. The admission committee of the university has released a list of applicants selected for admission to over 42 programmes. Those having any objections can submit claim forms till May 31st.

Talking to Dawn, the director of KU evening programme, Dr Abuzar Wajdi, said of the 5,700 admission forms, 5,200 have been received by the university. The admission list is out, but classes would be conducted in only those departments where number of students would not be less than 25.

He said that students submitting their claim forms, along with a fee of Rs 200, would get the additional amount refunded only when their claims were found valid after scrutiny. He said that list of successful claimants would be issued on June 2.

BCom Exam: The controller of examinations of KU, Dr Syed Anwar A Zaidi, has notified that examination forms of regular students of BCom supplementary examinations, 2005, would be accepted between June 1 and 15. Fee for part-I and II is Rs 850 each, while for both parts the fee is Rs 1,500.

Candidates enrolled on or before 2003 are eligible, while the students enrolled in 1999 or earlier will be required to submit their examination forms and fees with a special fee of Rs 800 each in addition to their respective examination fee. The students would have to appear as per existing syllabus.
