Delayed phone bills

Published May 29, 2006

GUJRANWALA, May 28: The PTCL subscribers protested against the delayed delivery of their bills because of which they had to pay surcharge without any fault of theirs.

At a meeting held here on Sunday the subscribers’ representatives said the last date for payment of telephone bills for the month of April was May 24. But, they said, they received the bills on May 25 and May 26, while scores of subscribers had to get duplicate bills from the PTCL’s customer service centre.

They blamed the company for the delay, demanding action by the authorities concerned against those responsible for the negligence.

However, senior accounts officer of the revenue section Aman Ullah claimed the bills were sent in time and the delay in their delivery might be on the part of post office.
