LAHORE, May 27: Three-year-old colt, Fido Dido, with two back to back victories will be on course to complete hat trick in the Lahore Summer Meeting at the flood-lit Racecourse on Sunday.
In a field of nine acceptors barring last-minute withdrawals, the Mian Maahir Ahmad owned dark-bay colt won twice under jockey Shahid Rehman.
But this time he will probably be ridden by M. Hanif because of the 7-10 handicap assigned to him for the class IV division II and III combined handicap race.
This will be the supporting and fifth race of day's card. Trace Kim, Run And Win and Green Street may fight for less remunerative positions.
Five-year-old horse Empire Maker, who ran two superb races but finished second in his previous outing should oblige her connections by winning the feature event.
The dark-bay horse from the yard of Mian Abdul Waheed, one time a leading owner in Lahore, had registered two facile victories on April 23 and April 30. He finished second behind Chan on May 21.
Empire Maker will be going all out to score his third win in the Hyderabad Plate class IV division I over the sprinting distance of 1200 metres.
Miss Pole and Alexander should be his challengers in this sixth and last race of the day.
Dark-bay filly Top Cat, who was unlucky to be beaten by Red Flame last Sunday will be reappearing on the track to make amends this time and win the fourth race of the day.
A big field of 18 runners are likely to be facing the starter.
The third race has a dozen horses in the field.
Three of them come into reckoning on present form. They are Token Of Love, Wendy Trace and Bad-i-Naseem.
However, Munir Dar's owned colt, Token Of Love has an edge over the others.
Nine-year-old mare, Lovely Diana, on her Sunday last running when placed second, looks well placed in the handicap to win the opener.
She should be followed by Dogar's Gift, Royal Palace and Savera.
A card of six events will be gone through during the meeting in which two events each will be held over the distance of 800 metres, 1000 metres and 1200 metres.
The first race will be held at 5.30pm.
